What it will cost

Planned pricing, shown now so nobody on the waitlist is surprised later. Sold through the App Store, cancellable inside the app or in Settings like any other subscription. There is no free tier — and no trial that quietly turns into a bill.

Nothing is being sold today. Polya is not on the App Store yet, and the waitlist takes no payment.

The struck-through figure is the list price; the launch discount is 20% off it for everyone who joins before Polya ships. Paid yearly instead of weekly, both plans are 20% cheaper again — $208 a year for Magna, $332.80 for Summa, before the launch discount comes off.

What a credit buys

One currency for everything Polya does, so there is nothing to work out before you use a feature.

Checking a page

Photograph a finished page and every line comes back transcribed and marked. Magna's 150 credits a week is about 75 of those; Summa's 375 is about 185.

Live mode

The camera watching you write, speaking up mid-problem, costs by the minute rather than by the page — roughly 2.5 hours a week on Magna, 6 on Summa.

The stronger model

A page Polya judges hard is routed to a more capable model automatically. You never pick the model, and it is not a separate charge.

Your class's materials

Upload your own notes and problem sets so he checks against your course's notation. Magna covers three classes; Summa is unlimited.

Against an hour with a person

A human tutor is $40–80 an hour, booked days ahead, during their office hours. Magna is $4 a week for as many nights as you have homework. He is not a replacement for a person who knows you — he is what you have instead of nobody, at the hour there is nobody.

Billing, cancelling, refunds

Plans are sold and billed by Apple, not by Polya, so the buttons that matter live in iOS rather than here.

All of this is written out at greater length, with the email address to write to, on the support page.

Get told when he ships

One email, when there is something to open, and the launch price is for everyone who joined before then. No newsletter, nothing sold, and the address is not shared with anyone.
